Social Development Institute with the support of Artek-Global Alumni Organization presents: 10 talented and active kids from the United States are invited to represent the US at the 12th International Children’s Festival “Let’s Change the World for the better!” in ARTEK, Crimea, Ukraine www.change-world.org The Annual International Children’s Festival is held from July 17 to August 4, 2013, at the world-known International Children’s Centre “Artek”, Crimea,Ukraine  www.artek.org . The Festival aims to promote international friendship and understanding between children of more than 60 countries. The group of 10 active children 13-15 years old will represent the United States at the Festival approved by UNESCO as the best international youth project.   They will participate in various cultural events, and in the fun-packed programmes of the Festival – all in the unique setting of a beautiful seaside resort at the Black Sea coast. They will have: ·         Master-classes on singing, circus, theatre, choreography, instrumental music, painting·         Workshops, play shows, young DJs, entertainers, singers and dancers competitions ·         Concerts, entertainment shows ·         Sightseeing tours·         Meetings with diplomats, Heads of states, representatives of UN, politicians and celebrities The delegations from each country will be expected to make a presentation of their own country during a special show “Day of Peace” – one of the main events of the Festival which is world broadcast by TV. The representatives of each country will participate in the 3rd Session of the Assembly of the International Children League of Nations and promote the principles of tolerance, equality and pluralism among children of different nationalities and faiths through gaining the life experience in a multicultural environment. They will express their views on children rights issues, environment, and bring their initiatives in the Appeal to the Heads of the State. The Founders of the Festival are: ·         The State Committee of Ukraine for the Family and Youth Care ·         UNESCO ·         The International Children’s Centre “Artek”, Ukraine ·         The National Ukrainian Charity Fund “Hope and Goodness”, patronised by Ludmila Kuchma, the  former First Lady of Ukraine The children would be provided free accommodation and full board in “Artek”, but they travel at their own cost. (some discount on airline tickets may apply) ***No visa needed to travel to Ukraine.
